I love the holidays but after a while I miss school. Holidays are a break from school. The school that I go to has two weeks off. So far on the hoildays I have done a lot. I know the holidays are going to fly past and I will be back at school in no time.

Here are some things that I have done:

Having a sleepover with my good friend Rhiannon!

On Saturday night (the first Saturday night of the holidays) my good friend Rhiannon came over with her family for tea. We went over to the playground (with her older brother and my younger brother) and had a blast. We played chasey, hide and seek and played on the play equipment. For tea we had chicken schnitzel and it was delicious. When it was time for Rhiannon’s family to leave Rhiannon didn’t have to leave because she was having a sleepover. Some other things we did were having a disco, doing pretend news reports and going on our hammock. If you are wondering, a hammock is a thing you can sit on and relax.

Easter egg hunt!

On Friday I went to an Easter egg hunt with my family. When we arrived there were stalls set up for face painting and getting things like balloons. When you got there you had to  make a gold coin donation and then get a wrist band for your age group and put it on your wrist. My age group was 8-10. The age group was for which Easter Egg Hunt you were in. The eggs were hidden in hay. I got a few but my mum gave me a few more. At the end they ended up raising $2,322 for the Royal Childrens Hospital.

Going to the Clarendon!

On Saturday night we went to a restaurant called the Clarendon. My best friend Millie was coming with her family for tea. When we walked into the restaurant I thought it was fantastic. The playground was wonderful. The slides were cool. There was a swirly one and a steep one. Anyway, I played chasey with Millie, my brother and her brother. There were a lot of places to run to. For tea I had chicken strips. Later on we had dessert. The dessert was delicious. It was soft serve ice-cream and lollies of your choice. I recommend it for you.

I hope you had a great Easter. I know I did.

  1. Dear Skye,

I’m glad you’re having such a fun holiday and it makes me happy to hear that you’re missing school a bit too!

The Clarendon sounds like a good recommendation. Soft serve ice cream with lollies sounds delicious!

I’m glad the Easter Egg Hunt raised so much money for a good cause.

Was it Rhiannon from Mr Renkin’s grade that slept over at your house?

I am having a nice holiday! Last week Nate and I went to Mount Martha for five nights and we’ve been relaxing a lot.

The Easter Bunny bought me too much chocolate! It’s all so delicious. What is your favourite type of chocolate?

    Best wishes,
    Mrs M☀rris

    • Dear Mrs Morris,

Thanks for your fabulous comment on my blog. I enjoyed reading it. 😀 I hope you are having a great holiday. I know I am.

I would recommend the Clarendon. It has got good play equipment for kids and great food. It is worth the wait.

Yes, it was Rhiannon from Mr Renkin’s class. We are quite good friends! We became good friends in grade 3.

The Easter bunny brought my mum and dad chocolates. He also wrote back to my note. I asked him what his favourite type of chocolate was and he said…..everything. I like nearly all the types chocolate but if I had to pick I would choose top deck or carmello. I also love turkish delight. What is your favourite type of chocolate?

      • Dear Skye,

Thanks for writing back to me.

I love turkish delight chocolate. Yum! I am also a fan of top deck and caramello. We have a lot in common there.

Rhiannon is a great girl to be friends with. I’m glad you’re still friends even though you’re not in the same class any more.

Jo said your dad is training for a big walk? Nate’s mum is doing that too. It sounds like a very big challenge!

        Best wishes,
        Mrs M☀rris

        • Dear Mrs Morris,

          Thanks for the reply! 🙂

My mum is a fan of turkish delight aswell. The Easter Bunny ran out of turkish delights though, so I gave her one of mine.

Yes, my dad is training for a big walk. It is called the Oxfam walk. What is Nate’s mum named? I agree, it will be a big challenge.

          • Dear Skye,

Yes, Nate’s mum is doing the Oxfam walk too. She has been doing a lot of training! Just like your dad.

That was nice of you to give your mum a turkish delight. I bet the Easter Bunny is exhausted after his big weekend!

            Best wishes,
            Mrs M☀rris

  2. Dear Skye,

I always enjoy hearing what my students get up to on their holidays, so this was an interesting post to read.

The Easter Egg Hunt sounds like lots of fun, I am sure there were lots of Leopold kids there.

I agree with Mrs Morris, soft serve ice cream with lollies sounds like a delicious treat!

I spent the Easter weekend at my family’s house near Halls Gap. They have a new puppy, named Annie. It was fun to meet her and play with her. Yesterday morning we couldn’t find Annie anywhere and we went hunting in all of the rooms and we eventually found her in my sister’s room. She had found my sister’s Easter eggs and was chewing on the corner of a Humpty Dumpty egg box! Annie is cute and very cheeky!

I have got a lot of Easter eggs to get through, lucky I love chocolate!

Do you have anything fun planned for this week of the holidays?

    Your teacher,
    Miss Jordan

    • Dear Miss Jordan,

Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog. I really appreciate it! 🙂 I hope you are really enjoying your holidays. It sounds like you are.

You are right, there were lots of kids from Leopold Primary at the Easter egg hunt. You know our class mascot Leo, did you and Mrs Morris name him Leo because we go to Leopold Primary?

Your family’s new dog Annie sounds like a cheeky dog. What type of dog is Annie? How old is she? My family has got a dog named Kyza. He is a Boxer and is 11 years old. His face is getting grey.

I have got a lot of Easter eggs aswell. My basket was over flowing. I had to put it into another basket.

This week Tuesday Millie is going to come over for a sleepover. On Friday I am going to be playing a netball game at Simonds Stadium. I am not doing it at Life Be In It anymore. I am going to get coached better.

      From,
      Skye ♥

      • Dear Skye,

You’re right, we named Leo after Leopold Primary School and also because we thought the name suited him. 🙂 We also like the alliteration of his name. Do you know what alliteration is?

Annie is a Jack Russell and she’s just a couple of months old I think. She is very energetic and she also loves chewing shoes so I had to be very careful not to leave my shoes lying around!

It sounds like you have some fun things planned over the next few days. Say hi to Millie for me!

        Your teacher,
        Miss Jordan

P.S I think you must be working towards reaching your goal of becoming quicker at typing, with all of your quality comments! 🙂

        • Dear Miss Jordan,

          Thanks for the reply! 🙂

My mum, dad and I did not know what alliteration meant so we searched it up in the dictionary. The dictionary said it means several words in the same sentence with the same letter and sound. Is that right?

I think I’m going to achieve another goal these holidays. I think I am going to get 1,000 visitors. Yay! I am getting better at typing. You are really good at typing. You don’t have to look at the keyboard. Wow!

What is your favourite type of chocolate?

          From,
          Skye ♥

P.S I will make sure to say hi to Millie for you.

          • Dear Skye,

Yes, that is the correct definition for alliteration. So, Leo the Lion is an alliteration because his name has two L’s at the start of each word. People like to use alliteration because it is catchy and sounds interesting.

Here is an example of a sentence with alliteration: Skye saw several stunning seals on Sunday. I wonder if you can think of an interesting sentence using alliteration?

I hope you do reach your goal of 1000 visitors very soon! That will be a special milestone for you. 🙂

            Your teacher,
            Miss Jordan

  3. Dear Miss Jordan,

    Thanks for the reply. 😀

I will think of a sentence with alliteration in it: Leo the lion leapt over his lunch. Is that right?

Alliteration is very interesting and sounds cool. I might use it in my writing some time.

Guess what, I have reached my goal of getting 1,000 visitors. Yay!

    Your student,

    Skye ♥

  4. Dear Skye,

What a fantastic post! I hope your holidays were great and some of the things you did looked fun!

I got lots of chocs from the bunny and the funniest thing I did on the holidays was to go rollerblading.

    Got to go,

    Maha

    • Dear Maha,

Thanks for the comment on my blog. 😀 I appreciate it.

I enjoyed the holidays aswell. Yeah, I agree, getting a visit from the Easter bunny was cool. Do you like Christmas or Easter better? I love both of them because at Christmas you get presents and at Easter you get chocolates.

I rollerskate because I usually fall over on rollerblades. Where do you go for rollerblading? I had one of my birthday parties at a rollerskating and rollerblading place.

      Got to go!

      Your friend,

      Skye

      • Dear Skye,

Thank you for replying to me!

It is nice to know that you enjoyed your holidays and I don’t know what I liked better, Easter or Christmas!

I am not excellent at rollerblading but I have never rollerskated before! I went to Rollerway in Newtown, that’s probalby where you had your partie!

        Have a nice day!

        Maha

        • Dear Maha,

Thanks for replying. You are a great blogger. 😉

Yes, Rollerway, that’s right. Your good at remembering things. I had my party there. It was fun. Have you ever had a birthday party there? Have you ever been there for a birthday party? Would you like to have a birthday party there?

          See you tommorow,

          Skye ♥
